  • Voices of Mobile
    You don't want to miss a fabulous performance by the Voices of Mobile and our choir program.  Join us Tuesday, May 1st at 7:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Pascagoula.  This will be one performance you won't want to miss.
  • Only 24 Yearbooks Left

  • Senior Ads

    The Panther yearbook staff is making preparations for the 2012 yearbook. If you would like to purchase 

    a senior ad for your son or daughter, you can do so now. This is a chance to congratulate your senior on the 

    occasion of his or her graduation. 

    If you are not familiar with this tradition of showcasing your student’s life, you need only look as far as any 

    Panther yearbook. If you do not have a copy of the Panther available, you can view one in the front 

    office or in the school library on campus. 

    If you are interested in purchasing space in the Panther yearbook, please contact yearbook adviser, Karly Richardson
    or a Panther yearbook staff member.  Prices for ads vary & space is limited.  

  • Art Club Makes Dresses for Haiti
    The art club took on a heartfelt project this year.  They have worked to make 6 dresses to send to an orphanage in Haiti.  Art club sponsor, Teri Smith said, "When I read this blog on projecthopeart.org, I immediately wanted to be a part of this project. I talked to the Art Club, and we all agreed it would be fun". 
  • Cap & Gown Orders
    Jostens will be back to take senior deposits & cap & gown orders on Wednesday October 12 during lunch.  You may also visit campus supply online to place orders.
  • Community Pep Rallies
    There will be several community wide pep rallies in the upcoming months.  The cheerleaders will be cheering to get the crowd energized. The pep rallies will be downtown and the dates will be: Thursday: 29 September 6:30pm & Thursday: 13 October 6:30pm.  Come out & show your support!
  • School Day Pictures
    Spring school pictures will be February 8th.  Students will be called alphabetically.
  • Graduation Invitations & Keepsakes
    Jostens will hand out graduation invitations & keepsakes during lunch on April 10. All balances must be paid in full to receive items. 
  • Senior Class Photo
    The senior class group photo will be taken at the stadium Wednesday March, 14. You must be in uniform, but do not wear blue. 
  • PHS Hosts 8th Grade Student & Parent Night
    Thursday evening, February 23, 8th graders & their parents are invited to visit PHS to learn about various AP classes.  Also many club sponsors will be available with information about the many clubs the high school has to offer.  AP teachers will be available beginning at 5:30pm with parent night beginning immediately after from 6:00pm to 7:00pm.  
  • National History Day Contest
    PHS hosted the 2012 National History Day Contest Tuesday January 31.  Students competed in several categories including exhibitions, performances, websites & documentaries.  Click the heading to see a list of winners.
  • Students Qualify to Attend National Debate Tournament
    For the third year in a row, PHS has qualfied students to attend the national speech and debate touranment, which will be hosted this year by the city of Baltimore, Maryland.  This is a special academic opportunity for our students as well as a unique opportunity for our community to be reminded of the superior education offered by the Pascagoula School District.  Several of our students double or triple qualified in events.  PHS will be sending more students to this tournament than any other school in our league.   • John Taylor Inducted into Phi Beta Mu
    Congratulations to Pascagoula High Band Director John Taylor who was inducted into the Mississippi Band Master's Chapter of Phi Beta Mu, which is "the elite" Band Masters Fraternity for this state, at the Mississippi Band Masters Convention and clinic this past week.  Mr. Taylor has also been asked to serve as the Assistant Concert Director for the Mississippi Lion's Band this summer.  These are both tremendous accomplishments and a credit to the work Mr. Taylor has done and continues to do in the Pascagoula School District as well as the work he has done outside of our district. Congratulations Mr. Taylor!
  • We're On Our Way To #1
    Based on this year's points, Pascagoula is #2 in the state for our Debate Team!  In addition, senior Robin Coleman joins Zack Barlow on the Top 25 Debaters in the state list!  She is at 25, but will soon pass many others.  That's two PHS kids on the Top 25 list!  Great job to Robin & Zack, as well as Mrs. Wilkinson for sponsoring such a great group of students.
  • Perfect SATP Scores
    Congratulations to the following students for getting a perfect score on their SATP test!
  • Top 10% Scorers on the SATP
    The following students either scored perfectly or in the top 10% on the SATP.  In honoring this achievement, these students received a jeans pass button that allows them to wear jeans on the designated day.  Congratulations for a superior job!
  • Khadijah Henson Named 2011 Homecoming Queen
    Congratulations to Khadijah Henson who was voted this year's Homecoming Queen.  She was escorted by her father, Bruce Henson.  She is a member of the Lady Panther Softball team and a member of the yearbook staff. 
  • Teacher & Staff Member of the Year
    Congratulations to Sherry Holmes, our teacher of the year and Dixie Goodwin who was named our staff member of the year.  Many congratulations for a job well done. 
  • Healthier US School Challenge Winner
    Pascagoula High School has been named a Bronze Award Winner for its healthy food offerings and physical education emphasis on rigorous exercise. Congratulations to Ms. Natarsha Shepherd and her cafeteria staff and Coach Melinda Mitchell and her physical education staff for their part in making Pascagoula High School a national award winner!

  • Zack Barlow Among Top State Debate Students
    Senior Zack Barlow has been ranked among the top 25 debate (of over 600) students in Mississippi. We've never had a student make the list because the rankings are cumulative and reflect four years of points, and PHS has only competed for three years. Zack made the list with only two years of academic competition so far! He is number 20 in the state! This is a first for Pascagoula, but we're hoping to make it a trend, said Jessica Wilkinson, forensic team sponsor. Congratulations Zach!

  • Debate Racks Up Awards & Honors
    The year has been extremely kind to the debate team.  They have earned numerous awards and honors during their tournaments.  Below is a list of their achievements.

    MHSAA State Championship Tournament at Hattiesburg High, April 13-14

    Austin Allen State Champion in Humorous Interpretation of Literature AND Storytelling, 6th Place Overall Individual Performer, Semifinalist in Policy Debate

    Samantha Shaw and Payton Green State Champions in Public Forum Debate

    Zack Barlow - 2nd Place Humorous Interpretation, Semifinalist in Extemporaneous Speaking and Impromptu Speaking, Quarterfinalist in Lincoln-Douglas Debate

    Kaylie Mitchell - 5th Place in Prose Interpretation

    Robin Coleman - Semifinalist in Original Oratory, Impromptu Speaking, and Extemporaneous Speaking

    Samantha Shaw - 5th Place in Duo Interpretation, Semifinalist in Television Commentary and Extemporaneous Speaking

    PHS also won Third Place Overall Sweepstakes at the tournament.  There were 18 schools from across the state who qualified students to attend the tournament.

    National Forensics League Academic and Service Honors

    Robin Coleman - named NFL Academic All-American (based on speaking points, GPA, recommendations, and ACT score)

    Robin Coleman, Samantha Shaw, and Zachary Barlow - Nationally recognized for outstanding service to speech and debate education, participated in over 100 points of community service through speaking engagements as high school students, the only three students from Mississippi to receive this honor, recognized in the national publication - The Rostrum magazine - in April
